Once again we are offering an outstanding special EVOO from @queenmaripa at Casa del Tempo Ritrovato. We were over visiting Maripa in October and saw how much of the Lake Garda area’s Casaliva olives were destroyed by the climate last year so produced no Casaliva EVOOs. We are hoping they will make a come back next year, as is Maripa, but for now, she searched for the best and created another masterpiece with her blend of Peranzana olives from two regions – Puglia and Campania.
This EVOO, known as Selezione Green is a medium-high intense EVOO. It has the fresh smell of green tomato leaves, aromatic herbs, and green almond. In the mouth, it is fresh, with a pleasantly bitter and peppery taste. It is like being in a garden when you cut the grass in early Springtime. It is green in the taste and in the soul. If this Evoo would be a color would be a full saturated light green.
Best uses: on pizza – Margherita, finish for your salad, pasta with Pesto, a simple bruschetta with tomatoes or just a boiled potato…you’ll feel the smell of spring .
