The “white olive” olive cultivar has existed since ancient times, and thanks to its role as a pollinator of many other olive varieties, it has spread throughout Tuscany. This is an outstanding, high-intensity, single-varietal Tuscan EVOO. It features strong aromas of green almond, together with fresh artichoke heart, and flavors of green almond, artichoke, aromatic herbs and a clear hint of green olives. The persistency is high, with a medium/high bitterness and medium pungency.
Delicious on grilled meats and prawns, as well as soups. Also excellent on a simple bruschetta.
In February, 2019, Giacomo Grassi’s Olivo Bianco olive oil was given a special prize as the best monocultivar (single-varietal) olive oil in 2019 by Gambero Rosso, Italy’s premier food and wine magazine.
