Lot 22 is a small, family-run organic olive grove in southern California with just over 200 trees of multiple olive varieties. They manage and work their own grove (much to the dismay of their teenage boys) and pride themselves on responsible farming. They are well-educated in the sensory analysis of oils, the most up-to-date milling practices, and network widely with olive growing and oil producing communities. All this in an effort to deliver the best olive oils.
This offering from Lot 22 is a single-varietal, organic Nocellara. The Nocellara cultivar is originally from Sicily, and as a table olive is known as Castelvetrano. The nose and flavor are sweet, floral and herbal with a spicy finish.
This approachable oil is great on salads and vegetables, as well as more assertive dishes.
